GROUP OF FIVE BIRDCAGE AND ROD-BACK WINDSOR CHAIRS. Last half 18th century. Group includes four birdcage examples in black paint and one rod-back example in earlier blue. SIZE: Tallest: 34-1/2″ h. of back. PROVENANCE: From an East Sangerville, Maine private collection. Acquired in Central Maine in the 1950/60’s by the present owner’s parents. CONDITION: Group as found, with some replacements and repairs, one unrepaired. Generally fair to good. Chairs in varying degrees of restoration. One birdcage with broken back, one with missing spindle. 9-94943 (350-600)
