EARLY AMERICAN DECORATED FOOTWARMER. 2nd half 18th century. Of rectangular box form with dovetailed construction, punch-decorated with diamonds, heart and the initials “PG”, the back fitted with a sliding door, all mounted on a molded base. Fitted with original wrought iron carrying handle and square removable iron ember holder, both of which appear original. Together with a pine firkin with swing handle and cover. SIZE: WARMER: 10-1/4″ overall h. x 9-1/2″ overall w. x 7″ d. FIRKIN: 13″ overall h. x 9″ dia. CONDITION: First in very good condition, the surfaces stripped and waxed. Second with later finish.
