CHINESE EXPORT CAMPHOR LACQUERED CANDLESTAND. Second quarter 19th century. Lacquered and gilt-decorated overall, the octagonal tray top joined to the ring-and-spool-turned standard, raised on a tripod cabriole leg base, terminating in hairy paw and ball feet. SIZE: 26-1/2″ h. Top: 14-1/2″ x 11-1/2″. CONDITION: With wear, losses and crackle to lacquered top; losses of gilt decoration throughout. Interesting “musket ball” lead inserts in feet. 9-95023 (300-500)
