WEDGWOOD FAIRYLAND LUSTRE MALFREY POT. Exceptional large Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre malfrey pot is decorated in the Candlemas pattern with six panels, each decorated with a white candle extending upward from a blue and green coiling dragon. Each panel has a midnight background and is highlighted with gold gilt details. Each panel is separated by a light blue vertical border decorated with black fairies trimmed in gold hanging from a vine. The domed lid has a center midnight lustre medallion with spiderweb and center spider and green, purple and mauve flowers with gold highlights. The light blue background gives way to a midnight lustre flame border. Interior of the lid is further decorated with a green medallion having center large spider all against a mother of pearl background. The malfrey pot is finished with a wonderful bright lustre glaze. Signed on the bottom with Portland vase mark and “Wedgwood England”. SIZE: 9-1/2″ t x 10-1/2″ dia. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-67319 (30,000-40,000)
