WEDGWOOD FAIRYLAND LUSTRE PLAQUE. Extremely fine Fairyland Lustre plaque is done in the Torches pattern with a center white stairway illuminated by flaming torches. Right side of the plaque is bordered with a tall tree, a serpent climbing towards a birds nest with mother and father bird feeding chicks in the nest. A stream flows at the foot of the stairway with three floating imps and another imp on shore looking down. Plaque is finished with an exceptional bright glaze. Signed lower right corner “S. Makeig-Jones”. Marked on the back with Portland vase mark, “Wedgwood Made in England”, “Z5331” and “j”. SIZE: 7-7/8″ x 10-7/8″. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-67325 (35,000-40,000)
