NEW ENGLAND SHERATON MAHOGANY CARD TABLE. Second quarter 19th century. The rectangular hinged top with inset turret corners, raised on ropetwist ring-turned legs terminating in ball feet. Label on underside of table reads: “This table was owned by James Foster, the great-grandfather of Miss Margaret Foster, President of the Nat’l Society of Colonial Dames of America in California from 1922-1927. James Foster died in 1793.” SIZE: 31″ h. x 36-1/2″ w. x 18-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Geraldine Gaba, Scottsdale, AZ. CONDITION: Professionally refinished. 9-94844 (500-1,000)
