*WINCHESTER PRE-WAR MODEL 1894 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 30WCF (30-30). Standard carbine with 20” bbl, full magazine, blued square base front sight with ladder carbine rear sight and a stud and ring in the receiver. Very nicely figured uncheckered wood with straight stock and smooth steel carbine buttplate. SN 931001 (In the same series as two other carbines in this auction). CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain 97-98% strong bright original blue. Receiver retains about 90% strong original blue with three fingerprints on the left side and another on the right side which has removed the blue in that immediate area. Front edge on both sides also has light flaking and all of the flaked areas have turned to light patina. Wood is sound and retains 95-96% original finish with several light nicks and scratches on the buttstock and a couple of bruises. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-48807 JR615 (1,800-2,500)
