*WINCHESTER PRE-WAR MODEL 1894 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 30WCF (30-30). Standard carbine with 20” bbl, full magazine, blued square base front sight with ladder carbine rear sight and a stud and ring in the receiver. Very nicely figured uncheckered wood with straight stock and smooth steel carbine buttplate. Accompanied by the original yellow hang tag identifying this carbine. SN 931278 (only 9 numbers away from another identical carbine in this auction). CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain 97-98% strong bright original blue. Receiver retains about 95-96% original blue, flaked to a patina on the front half of the floorplate and with fine flaking on the front half of the left side. There is some fine flaking on the left rear of the receiver around the saddle ring stud and a couple of small spots on the right side. Wood is extraordinary for this late carbine and retains virtually all its fine finish. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-48808 JR614 (2,800-3,800)
