MONTAGUE DAWSON (American, 1895-1973) “PIECES OF EIGHT”. Limited edition pencil signed print by Venture Prints LTD of Bristol, England. Published in 1971. Pencil signed middle right and blind stamped on lower left. The scene shows a group of pirates splitting up treasure while their three-mast pirate ship is anchored in cove under moonlight. Nicely housed in a silver gilt molded wood frame with watercolor highlighted matte. PROVENANCE: Purchased from Shreve, Crump & Low Boston, Mass 1976. SIGHT SIZE: 26” x 31”.
