*WINCHESTER MODEL 71 CARBINE. Cal. 348. Standard grade carbine with 20” tapered round bbl, ramp front sight with hood, slot blank in the rear dovetail and original bolt peep sight. Wood is uncheckered with semi-beavertail forearm, pistol grip stock and Winchester checkered steel buttplate. This is the early type with long tang and high comb. SN 3363. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and magazine tube retains about 95% strong original blue. Receiver retains about 75-80% original blue, bright on the sides and top, turning gray on the bottom. Tangs retain 96-97% original blue. Wood is sound with the stock retaining 95-97% original varnish with some chips and scratches to the finish. Forearm retains about 50% original varnish with most of the wear coming at the carry point.
