MAINE FOLK ART CARVING; COUPLE IN CANOE. 1st quarter 20th century. The canoe carved from the solid and fitted with seated figures of man rowing, woman in stern, and dog seated between them. The canoe in reddish-brown wash, the interior gray painted, the figures painted in earth tones. SIZE: 13″ l. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Chad Richards, Camden, Maine. CONDITION: Overall very good original condition. Oar locks absent, chips in dog’s ears. One oar probably replaced. 9-94706 (1,000-1,500)
