FOUR DRAWER MAHOGANY SLANT LID CHIPPENDALE DESK. Circa 1760-1780, Boston area. Molded edge lid opens to reveal a fine interior having two document drawers with carved balusters flanking a three-drawer center area with fine fan carving. Four drawers and eight cubby holes. Four graduated long drawers fitted with replaced large brass bale handled hardware. Original molded edge bracket base has nice carved outline with central drop. Original wide backboards. SIZE: 42-1/4” h x 40-1/4” w x 22” d. CONDITION: Refinished, some old crack repair, added piece on top where lock broke out. Very good. 9-70842 (6,000-8,000)
