RARE DELUXE WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 50 Express. Beautiful case colored deluxe 86 with 26” oct bbl, full magazine, about 3X flame grain center crotch cut walnut with checkered forearm and black insert pistol grip stock with crescent steel buttplate. Bbl has Lyman silver bead front sight with semi-buckhorn rear sight and Lyman loop style early tang sight. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter fully identifying this rifle and showing shipment on January 23rd, 1894. SN 85483. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain 97-98% strong bright original blue. Receiver retains about 80% case colors faded on the bottom and top, strong and bright on the left side, faded toward the front end. Wood is sound and retains about 95% bright piano varnish on buttstock and 92-93% on the forearm with light handling and use marks and one small gouge on the forearm.
