*SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1899 KRAG CARBINE. Cal. 30-40krag. Usual carbine with 22”bbl., pedestal front sight with stamped metal cover, 2,000 yard ski-jump rear sight and 1901 cartouche. It has a commercial military style sling with the rear swivel added and the front band probably a replacement. Left rear side of receiver is mounted with a Lyman Model 21 style receiver sight. Hand guard is missing. SN 857887. CONDITION: As noted, metal retains an even plum blue-brown patina with scattered freckles of light surface rust. Stock is sound with a small notch cut to accommodate the receiver sight and some light mildew on the left side. Strong bore, frosty in the grooves. 4-48967 JR765 (400-700)
