EDWARD CHALMERS LEAVITT (American, 1842-1904) BANANAS AND LEMONS. Large oil on canvas still life scene shows a large bunch of yellow bananas next to a large bunch of plantains alongside are twelve yellow lemons. All are slightly reflected on the table’s surface they rest on. Signed on lower left, “E. C. Leavitt, 1896”. Housed in its original magnificent gesso-decorated gold frame. SIZE: 24” x 36”. CONDITION: Area of large chips at right bottom edge. Slits with chipping paint , otherwise very good. 9-74888 LG (7,000-9,000)
