CLASSICAL MAHOGANY LABELED WALL MIRROR, MID-ATLANTIC REGION. Circa 1825. The stepped concave molded cornice above a wide frieze of figured mahogany, the pilasters headed by applied carved stylized urns or lyres, the rectangular mirrorplate flanked by reeded and turned columns. The backboards with original label reading (in part): “ELIAS THOMAS / PEARL STREET, NEAR THE FRANKLIN BANK. MANTLE, PIER AND TOILET LOOKING GLASSES”. SIZE: 50-1/2″ x 24″.
