DIMINUTIVE NEW ENGLAND EMPIRE MAHOGANY SIDEBOARD. Circa 1840. The rectangular top with an architectural molded splashguard above the conforming case, fitted with a pair of aligned short drawers projecting above a second pair of short drawers over a pair of astragal paneled cupboard doors, flanked by short drawers above bottle drawers, further flanked by engaged three-quarter columns, continuing to ring-turned ball feet. The original brass ring hardware with stamped floral backplates. SIZE: 51″ overall h. x 40″ h. of top x 51-1/2″ case w. x 21″ d. CONDITION: Very good structural condition; retaining original finish, hardware, and backboards. Nice patina. One small floral backplate absent. 9-94984 (800-1,200)
