*COLT ASSEMBLED 1911 A1 STYLE PISTOL. Cal. 45ACP. Has all the outward appearances of a usual 1911 A1 but has the markings of a 1911 slide with United States Property on the left side of the forward part of the frame with wide hammer, long trigger and short safety, straight spring housing and diamond checkered walnut grips. The serial number indicates this pistol should have been made at Springfield in 1915. However, it has the 1911 A1 relief cuts behind the trigger and is parkerized and there are no inspector marks on the frame. In addition, on each side of the frame, just below the thumb safety, partially under the grips, is a filled 3/8” dia. hole in the position where it has been observed that the experimental full-automatic selector switches were mounted. SN 132143. CONDITION: Very good, as reparkerized. Retains most of this finish. Grips show moderate wear. Bore is lightly frosted. 4-48666 JR512 (400-800)
