WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38-55. SN 20873. Standard grade antique rifle with 26″ oct bbl, full magazine, and half-nickel front sight and modified semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has very nicely figured straight grain walnut, stock & forearm with straight grip & crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine. A very beautiful, very professional restoration similar to a Turnbull job, if in fact, it was not done by him. Colors are vivid & bright, both blue & case colors with sharp edges. Wood is sound with light handling & use marks. Crisp mechanics, strong bore with light to moderate pitting. Would make an outstanding Cowboy Action shooter or hunting rifle. From the collection of the late Bruce McDowell. 4-54582 JR148 (500-800)
