JOHN JAMES AUDUBON (Havell Publisher, 19th century) “BURROWING OWL—SHORT -CARED OWL” (5 owls). Colored print on paper No 87 plate CCCCXXXLL. Drawn from nature by J.J. Audubon F.R.S. F.L.S. engraved, printed, and coloured by Robt Havell 1838. Five different owls are identified in legend. Large folio print shows a pair of owls with four others. Four perched on branches two on grassy ground. Nicely framed and matted. SIGHT SIZE: 23” x 27” CONDITION: Very good, some slight stains, one small tear appears to be at edge of mat; not examined out of frame, otherwise very good. 9-93208 (800-1,200)
