COMMERCIALLY MADE PAINTED OIL CLOTH DOLL. Maker unknown. Charming folky cloth doll with large thumb shaped head with oil cloth mask face and painted features. Somewhat in the tradition of “Columbia rag doll”. The doll has a separate thumb with the other fingers stitched together and is joined at the hips and knees and is appropriately dressed in a 1920’s era pink cotton dress and newer black oil cloth shoes. SIZE: 25-1/2″ (65cm). CONDITION: Minor paint retouched to chin, nose tip, area above left eye as well as the left cheek color. 1-8452 RS (1,000-1,500)
