STACKHOUSE PERCUSSION HALF STOCK RIFLE. NSN. 38 Cal. 38-3/8” oct bbl. Marked “OWEN STACKHOUSE” on top of the bbl and “GOLCHER” on the lockplate. The single lockplate screw and oval patchbox indicate that this is a late rifle but Stackhouse has not been located. There are a number of German silver inlays. The forearm tip is pewter. CONDITION: Brown patina overall with wear on the edges and moderate pitting at the breech. Bbl tang is broken and held in place by a nail. Stock is cracked at the lock screw and has numerous cracks, dents and chips elsewhere. Mechanically fine. Wm. Hancock Collection 4-58559 (1,000-1,500)
