HANDEL BIRD OF PARADISE TABLE LAMP. Rare Handel lamp has magnificent reverse painted birds of paradise surrounded by flowers and leaves all set against a rare black background. Exterior of shade is chipped ice finish and is signed “Handel” with an illegible number and artist signed “Broggi”. Shade rests atop a wonderful Handel jeweled base. Base finished in heavily applied antiqeu gold enamel has red enamel beaded jewels circling foot. Three legs extend to meet center urn shape, which is enameled with a raised red design. Base of urn center section is decorated with amber colored prisms. Lamp has three socket cluster. Marked on bottom with cloth tag “Handel”. SIZE: Shade is 18″ dia. Overall height is 24-1/2″.
