LARGE PHOTOGRAPH OF BUFFALO BILL. Very large photograph of a younger showman, William F.”Buffalo Bill” Cody.with image size 18” x 13-3/4”, depicting a stage posed Cody in fringed buckskins with short beaded leather jacket, fringed buckskin pants, and mid-thigh boots with spurs. He is wearing an extremely large square belt buckle with decorated satin shirt and neckerchief with his trademark hat. He is standing with his left hand on his hip and the right arm extended supporting a deluxe 1873 rifle. The bottom of the photograph is marked “Forbes Co. Boston. Mass. U.S.A.” and signed “Sincerely Yours, / W.F. Cody / “Buffalo Bill”. The signature is printed with the photograph. The print is contained in a fine 4” wide rococo gold plaster frame and not matted. CONDITION: The print is yellowed with a minor damage at the bottom not affecting the image, which is sharp and clear. The frame is missing two or three spots of plaster with some crackling and fading to the gold. A fine decorator item. 4-47868 JR 779 (800-1,200)
