CURRIER & IVES (American, Publisher, 19th Century) “THE LIFE OF A FIREMAN-THE NIGHT ALARM-START HER LIVELY BOYS”. Fabulous colored lithograph shows fifteen fireman bringing an engine on cart out of a fire house. It is nighttime and the scene is lit by streetlights and a man with a lantern. After a painting by “L. Maurer” and dated “1854”. A nice large folio with good color. Housed in a modern black and gilt molded wood frame with red and white mattes which have cutout for a title. IMAGE SIZE: 17-1/4” x 26”. SIGHT SIZE: 19-1/4” (to bottom of cutout) x 26-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good, not examined out of frame. 9-90420 LG (4,000-5,000)
