INSCRIBED WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 44WCF (44-40). Standard carbine with 20” round bbl, full magazine, uncheckered wood with straight stock and carbine buttplate with trap. Left sideplate is inscribed “C.W. ANDREWS / LONDON / 6”. Standard post front sight with an 1873 marked carbine ladder rear sight and a staple and ring on the left side of the receiver. Left side of the bbl and left front edge of receiver have British proofs. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum yellow sheet identifying this carbine as being shipped 1/27/1891. SN 366296. CONDITION: Good, plus. Bbl and magazine tube retain 85-90% dark blue/brown patina that when cleaned may reveal substantial blue. Right side of bbl and magazine tube have a cleaned area. Receiver retains 40-50% thin original blue mixed with brown patina. Lever has traces of case colors with mottled silver patina. Hammer retains about 70% bright case colors. Wood is sound, missing a chip at the tang and retains most of an old refinish. Bright shiny bore with a few spots of scattered pitting. 4-48634 JR560 (3,750-4,750)
