WINCHESTER SPECIAL ORDER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44WCF (44-40). Standard grade rifle with 24” oct. bbl, button magazine, uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate with trap. Front sight is half nickel with a semi-buckhorn rear sight. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum yellow sheet identifying this rifle as having been shipped 12/3/92. SN 440503. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl retains about 75% blue turning plum/brown. Receiver and sideplates retain 40-50% thin original blue with the balance a light patina. Wood is sound and retains about 50% original finish on the stock and with a fine hand rubbed patina on the forearm with numerous small nicks, dings and scratches. Strong bright bore with scattered fine pitting. Good shooter. 4-48636 JR562 (2,500-3,500)
