RARE WINCHESTER SPECIAL ORDER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44WCF. Standard grade 3rd Model rifle with 24” oct bbl, full magazine, Beach’s front sight and rare 7-leaf platinum line express sight. Uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate with trap and single set trigger. Also fitted with factory sling loops and an original type Winchester sling. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum yellow sheet identifying this rifle including the set trigger, sights, sling and swivels as having been shipped 8/16/93. SN 431698. CONDITION: Good. Bbl retains about 50% thin blue turning brown. Magazine tube is mostly silver metal color. Receiver retains 10-15% thin original blue in the sheltered areas with the balance a silver metal color. Wood is sound, overall retains a cleaned patina with traces of original finish on the buttstock. Strong bore with pitting in the grooves.
