DELUXE WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38WCF (38-40). Fine deluxe rifle with special order 26” oct bbl, full magazine, checkered forearm and black insert pistol grip stock, crescent buttplate with trap. Bbl has Lyman front sight, 3-leaf carbine style express sight and Lyman loop style tang sight. Receiver is case colored. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this rifle with shipment date of June 23rd 1883. SN 107942. CONDITION: Bbl retains about 90% original blue with an area turning brown about midpoint. Magazine tube is mostly a plum-brown with blue in sheltered areas. Receiver retains about 10% case colors, mostly on the left side with the balance turned silver mixed with scattered rust spotting. Stock has a hairline crack on back of the top tang and retains about 80% of a fine old refinish. There is a scratch on the forearm, otherwise the wood has light nicks, scratches and dings with a pattern of bruises on the buttstock. Bright shiny bore. 4-48801 JR608 (6,000-10,000)
