AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE PINE TAVERN TABLE. Last half 18th century. The rectangular top with breadboard ends projecting above the conforming frieze with molded edges fitted with a single long drawer, raised on square molded and chamfered legs joined by a molded rectangular box stretcher. SIZE: 27″ h. x 44-1/2″ l. x 24-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From an East Sangerville, Maine private collection. Acquired from Robert Hall, Dover-Foxcroft, Maine in the 1950’s by the present owner’s parents. CONDITION: Table is structurally very good. Mortised, tenoned, and pinned construction. Top and apron with some early professional restoration. Refinished in honey color showing traces of original red wash. 9-94675 (800-1,200)
