NEAPOLITAN CRECHE LADY FIGURE W/ WAX BABY DOLL IN BOX. The Creche lady has a wooden head with painted gesso finish and wooden arms and legs. She wears her original silk costume with gold braid. The baby has a wax head and is contained in an elaborate swaddling outfit consisting of brocade material, sequins and faux jewels, possibly to represent the Infant of Prague. He is contained in a cardboard box, not original to the item. SIZE: 11-1/2″ (29cm) and 9-1/2″ (24cm) respectively. CONDITION: Creche lady has paint chip on left cheek and typical melting of material to costume. The wax baby is in excellent condition. 1-8401, 1-8417 RS (500-700)
