LARGE 18TH CENTURY FRENCH WALNUT ARMOIRE. Free standing armoire has two large doors with raised shaped panels having scroll and flower carving at the top and decorative circle and fan carving in the center. Outstanding bird form steel escutcheon plate with original key present. Bottom skirt carved with large sunflower design and trailing vine. Large paneled sides and a removable top crest. Three shelf interior. Nice old finish. Key present. PROVENANCE: Vouzelaud Family – France/Stockton Springs, Maine. SIZE: 94-1/2” h x 54-1/4” w x 25” d. CONDITION: Some restoration to legs, some worm holes, slight warp to right door, age splits to side panel. Generally very good. 9-71282 (2,500-4,000)
