SET OF 6 SHERATON PAINT-DECORATED SIDE CHAIRS. Circa 1840. Each chair with pillow crest above a rectangular slat. Painted with a fruit-filled urn, within green and brown striped borders, above four spindles joined to the shaped plank seat with paint-decorated rolled rail, raised on ring-turned cylindrical legs joined by a box stretcher. Each chair painted with leafy sprays, fruit filled urns and decorated elements bordered in greens, brown and gold, all on a cream-colored ground. SIZE: 34-1/2″ h top top of backs. PROVENANCE: From a fine Beacon Hill, Boston, MA & Thomaston, ME estate. CONDITION: Professionally repainted. Structurally very good. 9-93623 (800-1,200)
