PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH PAINT-DECORATED PINE BLANKET CHEST. Second half 18th century. The rectangular hinged lid with applied molded edges fitted to the conforming dovetailed case with original wrought iron tulip-form escutcheon, decorated with blue panels enclosing polychrome floral sprays on terra cotta red ground with mustard graining. The molded base on rectangular supports. SIZE: 22″ h. x 46″ l. x 24″ d. CONDITION: The top with old scrubbed surface, the case retaining original paint. The hinges replaced, lock missing, till missing. 9-93030 (800-1,200)
