*ALTERED WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 44 Mag. SN 19411. Reportedly made for the Montana State Police, this little carbine has an 18″ custom rnd bbl with ramp front sight, button magazine, highly figured custom wood with straight stock and checkered steel buttplate and a Model 65 style forearm. Receiver is mounted with a Lyman 66 receiver sight and there is a staple & ring in the left side. The bottom of the receiver has had the serial number restamped, in addition has a large number “1312” stamped adjacent to the serial number. CONDITION: Bbl retains about 90% bright custom blue with some chemical spotting. Receiver retains a mottled artificially aged patina. Wood is sound with repaired grain checks in the wrist and retains most of its bright custom finish. Good mechanics, bright shiny bore.
