TWO EARLY LANTERNS. Wonderful lot consists of two early tin lanterns, the first having a square body with glass on all four sides and a curved wire cage protecting the glass. The top of the lantern is vented with triangular cutouts and decorated with a raised pine bough decoration. Lantern is finished with a round tin handle. The second is a tin skater’s lantern with star and diamond cutouts around base and top of lantern. The lantern is finished with a round tin handle and houses a tin font with double-tube burner. SIZE: To top of handle: 14-1/2″ h. and 17″ h. CONDITION: Metal has some minor deterioration consistent with age. Glass on each lantern appears to be replacement. 5-67242 (100-300)
