FINE SPRING BARBED HARPOON HEAD.

FINE SPRING BARBED HARPOON HEAD. 22″ long with a 4″ wide barb when extended. The barbs fold down to 1-3/4″ when entering the whale. The head is finely finished but the socket appears to be hand forged, probably to fit the available stock on shipboard. CONDITION: Gray/brown patina overall with light pitting except on the socket which shows some deep pitting. 4-52763-2 FS263 (300-500)
