REED “GUTTER ROOF” DOLL HOUSE.

REED “GUTTER ROOF” DOLL HOUSE. A classic doll house made in Massachusetts around turn of the century by Reed Mfg, this finely lithographed doll house is in excellent condition. Known by collectors as the “Gutter Roof” due to the fact this was the only company that made simulated rain gutters. Although the lithography is in somewhat more muted colors than its rival Bliss Mfg, Reed Mfg has a higher degree of intricacy not only in their paper litho to the sides but in detailing to the wooden railing as well as extra cornice and molding trim. Interior retains its original floral wallpaper and flooring as well as Eisenglass windows and drapery on lower level. SIZE: 10″ wide x 9″ deep x 18″ high. CONDITION: Overall condition is very fine, untouched with “shelf dust”. Lacking two wood finials on upper porch and lacking partial hinge on side of house. 1-8086 (1,000-1,500)
