CARL KAUBA (Austrian/American, 1865-1922) “LARIAT CHASE”. Polychrome bronze shows Indian chief with lariat overhead on a galloping horse. Rectangular plinth base marked “Austria”. Unsigned. Pictured and numbered 471 and titled “Lariat Chase” Circa 1610 in The Schiffer Book of Bronzes by Berman. Parts of the clothing, saddle and ground are polychrome decorated in red, green and gold. Horse is a dark bronze color as well as the rectangular plinth. A nice period bronze. PROVENANCE: From a Pennsylvania Estate. SIZE: 11” h x 9-1/2” l. CONDITION: Very good. 9-29385 (2000-4000)
