FINE NEW ENGLAND QUEEN ANNE TRANSITIONAL LIFT TOP BLANKET CHEST IN ORIGINAL SURFACE. The rectangular top with applied molding and original rattail hinges opening above the conforming case with four simulated cock beaded drawers above a conforming pair of aligned short drawers over two long drawers on a molded base raised on bracket feet centering a deeply scalloped apron. SIZE: 51-1/2” h x 41-1/4” case w x 20” d. CONDITION: This piece retains original finish and hardware with very good patina, the bracket feet original with no visible repairs. PROVENANCE: Attached to the backboard is an early 20th Century shipping label from the “Auld Newbury Antique Shop, 11 Newbury Street, Newburyport, Mass. Shipped to Mrs. F. L.
