SMITH & WESSON #3 AMERICAN 2ND MODEL LARGE FRAME REVOLVER. Cal. 44 American. Usual configuration, 8” keyhole ribbed bbl, 2-pc smooth walnut grips with a plug screw in the lanyard stud hole. SN 28845. CONDITION: Poor to fair. No original finish remains being a dark brown patina with moderate to heavy rust pitting. Appears to be all matching including the grips. Ratchet pawl is a replacement. Strong dark bore, mechanics need attention. Grips are worn. 4-47961 JR122 (Anderson Collection) (400-700)
