GALLE MARQUETRY BOTTLE. Elaborately decorated marquetry bottle and stopper is internally decorated with muted yellow streaked irregularly with tangerine. The bottle is decorated overall with silver foil inclusions and is inlaid with polished abstract marquetry design in green, amber and gray. The shoulder has a very lightly etched spiral pattern. The elegant ridged stopper is pulled and curved reminiscent to a swan’s neck and head. Signed on the side with engraved signature “Gallé”. A similar example with an almost identical stopper and enameling decoration was exhibited at Ecole de Nancy April 26th – July, 1999. SIZE: 7-1/2” t.
