UNSIGNED (19th Century) PAIR OF ANCESTRAL PORTRAITS. Oil on canvas half portraits of a man and a woman reportedly the founders of Marshall Fields Dept. Store. The woman is seen in black dress with white lace collar. She wears an earring and brooch suite, which are white cameo portraits on black oval backgrounds set in yellow/gold setting. The man with black bowtie and black suit. Housed in an outstanding wide gilt and ebonized trim molded wood frame. PAINTING SIZE: 25″ x 30″ each. CONDITION: Relined, very good.
