SMITH & WESSON #3 TRANSITION MODEL AMERICAN LARGE FRAME REVOLVER. Cal. 44 American. Blued finish, 8” keyhole ribbed bbl, pinned German silver half moon front sight, 1st model frame with 2nd model hammer, 2-pc smooth walnut grips with screw in the lanyard stud hole. The small flat on the bottom of the ejector housing has been stamped with a tiny six-pointed star. Right side of the top strap has a small “D” in a circle. SN 3601. CONDITION: Good, all matching including the grips. Frame retains 15-20% original blue while the balance of the revolver is a medium patina with some light rust and pitting. Grips are fine with usual wear, nicks and dings. Bore is strong and dark with pitting, good mechanics. 4-47992 JR77 (Anderson Collection) (1,250-2,250)
