TIMOTHY PICKERING (1745-1829) AUTOGRAPHED DOCUMENT. Soldier and Statesman. 8” x 6” autographed document signed War Office, November 6, 1795. The document is a requisition for salt peter. Pickering served in the American Revolution under George Washington as Adjutant General and Quartermaster General. He later served as United States Postmaster General from 1791 to 1800. He also served in the United States Senate from 1803 to 1811 and in the House of Representatives from 1813 to 1817. 9-71983 (200-400)
