BAKHTIARI ORIENTAL RUG, WESTERN PERSIA. First half 20th century. The central ivory medallion with flowerheads in blues and reds within an arabesque medallion with scrolling ivory border, all on a soft rose-pink field of polychrome floral vinery within deep indigo spandrels, the ivory guard borders with floral latticework, the main border rose-pink with indigo flowerheads and olive green vinery. The long end of the rug is woven with Arabic devices. SIZE: 9’7″ x 7′. CONDITION: Very good overall with full pile. Professional repair at one corner. 9-94976 (2,500-4,000)
