BUELL MODEL 1808 CONTRACT MUSKET.

BUELL MODEL 1808 CONTRACT MUSKET. Cal. 69. 42” rnd bbl, marked “E. BUELL” at the tail of the lock and “MARLBOROUGH” in an arch under the eagle in front of the hammer. There are no proof marks on the bbl but the deep condemnation mark appears above the flash hole, indicating that this is probably original flintlock. The rear sling swivel is missing. The ramrod is a replica. The mainspring is missing. CONDITION: Rust/brown patina except on bbl, which has been lightly cleaned and retains some moderate pitting around the flash hole. Wood has been repaired ahead of the lock but not refinished. Chips and cracks at the rear of the lock and at the buttplate. 4-52629 FS117 (1,000-1,500)
