*ENGRAVED SMITH & WESSON 3RD MODEL LADYSMITH DA REVOLVER. Cal. 22. Silver finish, 2-1/4” bbl, integral front sight, square butt, 2-pc medallion pearl grips. Engraved in New York style with about 85% coverage fine foliate arabesque pattern engraving with punch dot background. Trigger and hammer are blued. Serial number is preceded by a star on the left side of the grip frame and has the date “9.25”, apparently the date that it was factory refinished. Cylinder is numbered to the frame while the bbl is unnumbered, leaving one to speculate that the bbl was probably changed at the time of refinish. SN 21629. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Retains about all of its fine refinished silver plating. Grips are also extremely fine, with medallions retaining most of their gold wash. Bore is bright and shiny, chambers somewhat corroded, good mechanics. 4-48046 JR226 (Anderson Collection) (1,250-2,250)
