SMITH & WESSON NEW MODEL #3 LARGE FRAME REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Russian. Blued finish, 6-1/2” keyhole ribbed bbl, 2-line address and 2-pc monogrammed hard rubber grips. Serial number is followed with a star indicating a factory refinish. Left side of the grip frame ,under the grip, is stamped the date “8 12” presumably the date refinished. SN 26681. CONDITION: Very good, as refinished. All matching except the grips which are unnumbered. Overall it retains 97-99% strong blue as refinished with light surface rust. Grips have a crack in the bottom of the left side and another in the top of the right side. Bore is strong with fine pitting. Cylinder stop does not engage complete, otherwise mechanics are fine. 4-47988 JR76 (Anderson Collection) (1,000-1,500)
