LARGE CLOSED MOUTH KESTNER CHILD DOLL. The head is incised “L made in Germany 15 1/2” and the body is stamped in red “Excelsior D.R.P No 70685 Germany 6”. She has brown glass sleep eyes, painted upper and lower lashes, pronounced dimple in her chin and is on her original fully jointed wood and composition body. She wears a an auburn synthetic wig over original plaster pate and has been re-costumed probably in the late 1940’s to early 1950’s. SIZE: 28″ (71cm). CONDITION: Two minor kiln dust spots on nose tip with streaked discolored varnish on certain areas of the body. 1-8238 RS (1,500-2,200)
